Madeira is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join the Dean of Student's team as the Assistant Dean of Students for Campus Life (ADSCL). This position is responsible for developing boarding and day student programs and activities which foster a culture of engagement, caring, connection, safety and support for each student at Madeira and ensuring students understand and embody our community values of compassion, creativity, integrity, resilience and awareness of self and others.

Create opportunities to build voice and choice among the students by engaging them to help create, plan and implement activities, programming and special events that cultivate a positive community culture in line with the mission and vision of the School.
Ensures, through enthusiasm and promotion, students and adults are actively engaged in events, programming and other initiatives which contribute to school culture.
Foster inclusive student environment which values both differences and similarities; provides a safe space for growth and support.
Assist in mediation and facilitation of conflict resolution among student community to ensure mutual respect.
Identify and engage resources on campus while providing students the guidance and opportunities to practice developing social emotional skills.
Model a passionate, dynamic, collaborative and engaged leadership approach to community building.
Provide a guiding adult presence assisting students in developing social-emotional awareness, student leadership, and individual responsibility.
Work closely with students, student leaders, adults and parents to garner enthusiastic support for student activities and initiatives.
Provide students opportunities to build relationships with students from other schools by developing relationships with peer institutions.
Create and implement a structure to involve faculty & staff in identifying, planning and publicizing community culture building activities. Provides positive guidance and coordination of adult chaperones and drivers for activities and programming
Ensures departmental and community communication for activities and events.
Serves as backup to the AOD.
Regularly contributes to Madeira's e-newsletters and publications.
Assists the Dean of Students in planning and implementing events and projects.
Acts as faculty sponsor and advisor; oversees the student club program.
Ensures timely completion of a variety of administrative tasks.
Bachelor's Degree required
2-5 years of work experience required; classroom experience preferred
Background or experience in student activities, leadership or residential life preferred
Dormitory parent experience a plus
Experience in working with adolescent girls preferred
Dynamic, enthusiastic and energetic with exceptional initiative and judgment
Outstanding interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Training in or experience with problem-solving and conflict resolution techniques.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team
Approaches tasks with a sense of humor.
Strong commitment to single sex and multicultural education.
Proficiency in basic data management systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Willingness and ability to work flexible work schedule, position includes evenings & weekends.
