Stone Ridge is seeking an Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Training to begin August 17, 2017.
Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational Early Childhood Program, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten. The Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Training provides athletic training services for all home athletic contests and practices. S/he must makes sound decisions under pressure regarding the need for professional attention, treatment choice, and authorization of athletes to return to activity. Working directly under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Training shares in the daily operation of the Middle and Upper School Athletic Program. S/he teaches athletic training/sports medicine courses depending on needs of the department and School, in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart education. S/he creates and updates plans for content, quality, and continuity of curriculum and actively collaborates with Learning Strategists and Educational Technologists to develop strategies to support all students. S/he acts as a liaison between family physicians and specialists, athletes and their parents; s/he maintains a database of accurate records of physicals, injuries, treatments and rehabilitation, and provides an annual summary report to the Athletic Director and School Nurse. The Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Training maintains the treatment room, equipment, and necessary supplies for the care and treatment of athletic injuries.
Working in collaboration with the Athletic Staff, s/he assists with the marketing and communications of the Athletic Department by maintaining web content and posting athletic news posts. Additionally, the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Training coordinates with coaches and media outlets to ensure Stone Ridge athletics scores and statistical updates are being provided consistently. S/he develops protocol, coordinates, and collects critical institutional statistics and record keeping for athletic events, (wins/losses, championships, pre/post season award recipients, etc.). With the Athletic Staff, s/he plans and organizes athletic events; assists, as necessary, with the distribution, collection and storage of uniforms; and assists the Assistant Athletic Director, as necessary, with supervision and coordination for all plans and responsibilities of the Athletic Department.

The ideal candidate possesses an advanced degree in Athletic Training. S/he is S/he is able to implement procedures for the prevention, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries; administer all forms of accepted physical therapy and first aid; use athletic conditioning devices; make slings and splints; read notes, and follow memos and first aid manuals. S/he has the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, to operate office machines and equipment, and is proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive. With a strong knowledge of Impact Testing software and protocols for Concussions, s/he has knowledge of and certification for applicable federal and state laws pertaining to athletic training. Finally, s/he possesses a capacity for organization and follow-through, a collaborative mindset, and flexibility.
