National Presbyterian School, an independent, co-educational day school for children age 3 through Grade 6, is seeking a Second Grade Homeroom Teacher for a maternity leave to begin on February 1 and conclude on April 30, 2018. Candidates should possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and demonstrate successful experience with elementary school-aged children.
The teacher will be responsible for facilitating a positive class environment and implementing an excellent elementary program that supports and challenges each student in a developmentally appropriate manner. She or he will collaborate with other homeroom teachers and teaching associate to plan and implement instruction in the areas of reading, language arts, mathematics, and science. Other responsibilities include observing and assessing student progress, preparing report cards, facilitating parent-teacher conferences, attending grade level and full faculty meetings, and assuming duties related to lunch, recess, and dismissal.
