The Lower School program at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School utilizes a co-teacher model in the Kindergarten program. The Kindergarten Teachers hold equal responsibility for the education and welfare of all students including parent communication, lesson planning, instructional delivery, classroom management and development of classroom routines and protocols. Applicants must have a keen understanding of the developmental needs of young students, show a willingness to work both independently, flexibly and collaboratively with other disciplines, and actively embrace the educational philosophy that underlies the school. Founded in 1978, St. Andrew’s is a co-educational independent day school, enrolling approximately 585 students in preschool-grade 12. The school has two campuses three miles apart. The Potomac Village Campus (preschool-grade 2) is on the grounds of St. Francis Episcopal Church and the 19-acre Postoak Campus (grades 3-12) is on Postoak Road in Potomac.
