Washington Episcopal School in Bethesda, Maryland, is seeking a full-time Art teacher for elementary and middle school students beginning in the fall of 2018.
The successful candidate will :
have art history knowledge and be able to link projects to various art movements and well known and lesser known artists
be responsible for project development that provides students with breadth and depth in the areas of forms of art and medium use, art history, and cross curriculum integration
work collaboratively with three other art teachers in the department, as well as division colleagues and administrators
foster a creative and relevant learning environment
Other duties include designing art-related field trips, displaying student artwork throughout the school, participating and co-running the annual art show, and other various art-related events at WES and in the community.

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Art or Art Education, with a graduate degree preferred, and will have demonstrated successful experience working with students in a variety of mediums and art forms such as painting, printing, drawing, ceramics, and sculpture.
