Sheridan School, a K-8 co-educational independent school in Washington D.C., is seeking a full-time nurse (RN) from April 17 to August 31. The school nurse works primarily with students and parents to maintain medical records, administer medications during school hours, managing immunization records and action plans for the new school year and athletics, organizing medications for field trips and domestic trips, updating the Health & Wellness Guidelines, and working with students who become ill during the day. Additionally, there are two diabetic students who need regular attention; experience with diabetes is preferred. When there are no medical duties, the nurse assists the front office staff, but medical duties always take priority. Qualified candidates will hold a RN from an accredited school of nursing and possess an active Washington, DC RN license. Ideal candidates must demonstrate an ability to think critically and communicate clearly in a warm and collaborative environment, have strong interpersonal and technology skills, a collegial approach, and excellent organizational skills. Previous experience working with children is preferred.
