Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School invites applications for a position as a science / math teacher for the 2017 – 2018 academic year. Located in Washington, DC and founded in 1799, Georgetown Visitation educates young women in grades 9 – 12 in a faith centered community focused on educational excellence and rooted in the Roman Catholic faith in the Salesian tradition.
Successful candidates should have a strong academic background and previous teaching experience in a rigorous science and math curriculum. Candidates must also be willing to work closely with departmental colleagues in a collaborative, increasingly inter-departmental setting. Energy, enthusiasm, and a desire to communicate with young women are essential. Prior experience teaching primarily Chemistry with flexibility for other needs in the science and math curricula is preferred. Additionally, experiences in STEM enrichment are valued as ways to enhance Visitation’s curricular and co-curricular experiences.
