Alexandria Country Day School is seeking a full-time Art Teacher for grades K-8 for the 2017-2018 school year. The ACDS art program is known for nurturing the creative expression of all of our students, honoring and drawing out the individuality of our students, and empowering students with the technical skills they need to communicate their ideas artistically.
The successful candidate will demonstrate personal artistic skill, a creative and open-minded approach to instruction, and a flexible and collaborative orientation. Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience teaching art in a classroom setting to a wide range of ages and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. The school seeks growth-minded candidates who are skilled, creative, innovative and adept at employing technology in the classroom. A good sense of humor, a positive outlook, and an appreciation of the unique qualities of the age group are essential.
