The Academy of the Holy Cross is accepting resumes for a Biology Teacher for the 2016/2017 academic year.

Instruct students in scientific concepts, analysis and problem-solving
Prepare for classes using formal, written lesson plans
Follow the syllabus for the course being taught and collaborate on pacing and major assessments with fellow teachers
Evaluate student work and maintain up-to-date records of student assessments and grades
Maintain a pleasant and productive class environment that is student-centered and conducive to learning
Collaborate within the Science department with other faculty and staff
Candidates should have experience teaching across the high school Biology curriculum. The ability to teach IB Biology, AP Biology, and Anatomy & Physiology is required.
The successful candidate will show an interest in and knowledge of both real-world and theoretical applications of the biological sciences, will actively engage students, create student-centered lesson plans, assign and provide prompt feedback on a variety of assessments, and communicate with students and their parents.
Candidates should be comfortable teaching students in an all-girls Catholic School and collaborating with colleagues in the Science Department to develop lesson plans, create assessments, and generally maintain academic standards. Experience with teaching or working with the assistive technologies of the iPad is desirable.
