Episcopal High School is seeking a Major Gifts & Alumni Programs Officer (APO) to support all aspects of alumni relations and giving. Reporting to the Director of Alumni and Parent Programs, the APO will work closely with the advancement team. This individual is responsible for engagement and fund raising for alumni in a cohort of approximately twenty classes, and for promoting the School’s planned giving program to increase membership in the Bell Society of planned giving donors. The APO will cultivate and steward donors and volunteers with personal visits, and achieve annual fund goals for class participation and level of giving.
Execute annual giving strategy for cohort of approximately 20 classes;
Manage a portfolio of 125 prospects for leadership level annual fund and capital campaign gifts with the following monthly targets: 30-50 contacts (moves management touches) & 15 face-to-face visits (requires significant travel);
Identify new prospects for planned gift and major capital gift solicitation;
Support gift program for four reunion classes each year; and
Staff key advancement events such as regional receptions, Spirit Weekend, Reunion Weekend.
Summary of Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of eight years of professional experience, preferably in non-profit/educational fundraising;
Experience soliciting planned gifts;
Exceptional interpersonal/relationship building skills;
Strong written, verbal, and listening skills;
Attention to detail and organizational skills;
Personal belief in the mission of independent boarding schools;
Desire to join a high-functioning and collaborative team; and
Willingness to travel an average of 2-3 times per month.
