Capitol Hill Day School seeks a friendly, professional, and motivated candidate to work at our Reception desk. We are an independent, coeducational school for students in prekindergarten through eighth grade. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintain a warm yet professional presence at the front desk during regular school hours
First point of contact and provider of information for guests, parents, and community members
Manage incoming calls and provide information to callers
Monitor building entry for safety
Provide general administrative and clerical support including student attendance and assistance with student health records.
Assist the Operations Manager in receiving, facilities set up, and other building needs. Must be able to lift 50-pounds to assist with moving boxes, equipment, and supplies as well as moving furniture for facilities set-up. Requirement is occasional but can occur daily.
Sort and distribute incoming mail
Other duties as assigned including street crossing at lunch and emergency response
This position is a full time, 40 hours per week. The hours of the position are 7:30am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not mandatory
Previous clerical experience required
Basic computers skill such as Word, Excel, Google Doc, Google Sheets, Google Email. Experience with a student information systems is a plus.
Strong ability to multi-task and work in a busy environment.
Warm, friendly, and professional demeanor
A valid CDL and experience driving a school bus is a plus
