DIRECTOR OF ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT
The school is looking for a Director of Alumni Engagement, a full-time, twelve-month position. The Director is responsible for providing and carrying through a strategic vision of SSSAS alumni relations which meaningfully engages a broad multi-generational alumni community of 7,000-plus while cultivating key alumni about opportunities for volunteering and financial support. The Director achieves deeper engagement from members of our alumni community by using metrics to drive alumni program goals and priorities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to bring alumni closer to the school, both in face-to-face meetings as well as communicating via social media, mass emails and through printed publications. The Director initiates, plans, and executes all alumni activities on behalf of the school and works with our motivated Alumni Association leadership and other key volunteers in developing and delivering a strong, ongoing, and comprehensive program for alumni relations. The Director of Alumni Engagement reports directly to the Director of Development and is a member of the school’s Administrative Team.
A baccalaureate degree and the ability to manage multiple projects while setting and driving effective program goals in a collaborative office setting. The ideal candidate will have an energetic and dynamic approach to bringing individuals into a deeper engagement with SSSAS. Other qualifications include: experience in training, and motivating volunteers; working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or other database; competence in working with excel spreadsheets and word processing; communication skills, both oral and written; keen attention to detail; ability to leverage social media for enhanced engagement; a sensitivity in working with confidential information; collegial attitude; 3-5 years of experience in an advancement/development office setting is desirable. Occasional travel and some evening/weekend event management expected to meet engagement goals.
