Washington Episcopal School in Bethesda, Maryland, is seeking a full-time Middle School French teacher, beginning August, 2018. The candidate will be responsible for teaching Grades 6, 7, and 8 French classes -- and working collaboratively with other faculty members on curriculum development, cross-curricular units, and integration of technology.
WES Grade 8 students participate in an exchange with a school in Paris in the spring. Students from Paris spend a week with WES families; WES students later travel to Paris and Normandy for about ten days. The Middle School French teacher is responsible for coordinating all aspects of this French study trip and exchange. This position also includes being a Middle School homeroom teacher and an advisor.
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in French or French education, with a graduate degree preferred, and will have demonstrated successful experience with middle school students. Preference will be given to native speakers. Responsive Classroom/Developmental Design experience is desirable.
