Landon School, an independent day school for boys in grades 3–12, in Bethesda, Maryland, seeks a full-time Interim Science Teacher for the Upper School division (grades 9–12) for the 2018–19 school year, to teach Biology and a second science, such as Chemistry or Physics, at the introductory level. Landon is committed to the teacher-coach-mentor model and seeks candidates who will contribute broadly to the life of the school. Duties will include teaching, coaching, and mentoring boys in our Upper School division.
Candidates must have completed undergraduate work in science, with significant coursework in biology and/or the other natural or physical sciences, and should be willing to work with other educators in a collaborative environment. A bachelor’s degree is required, while a graduate degree and previous teaching experience are preferred. Candidates must be willing to coach after-school athletics, and those who have experience guiding student projects or clubs related to STEM subjects are especially welcome.
