Stone Ridge is seeking a Lower School French Teacher to begin August 14, 2018.

The Lower School French Teacher is responsible for teaching French to students in Preschool through Grade 4, in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education. Working closely with colleagues in the World Language Department and throughout the Lower School, s/he creates and updates plans for content, quality, and continuity of curriculum. S/he actively collaborates with Learning Strategists, Educational Technologists, and the Lower School Counselor to develop strategies to support all students. S/he attends all faculty and employee meetings, fulfills other faculty duties, and maintains good communication with families about student progress through regular progress reports and responses to parents’ inquiries.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years teaching experience at the elementary level and possesses a Bachelor’s in a relevant field. Ideally, s/he holds a teaching certification for the early elementary classroom. Fluency in French is required. It is preferred that the candidate also have fluency in Spanish. S/he demonstrates a record of successful teaching, a capacity for working with a range of learning abilities, and experience with integrating appropriate educational technologies into the teaching environment. S/he demonstrates strong writing and communication skills, a capacity for organization and follow-through, a collaborative mindset, and flexibility.
