The Langley School, a PS-8 independent school in McLean, Virginia, seeks head teachers for our primary division for an anticipated opening during the 2018-19 school year. Guided by the theory and practice of the Responsive Classroom, our primary school teachers focus on the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of each child to create a nurturing and stimulating environment in which to learn. In addition to providing instruction in core content areas to students, primary school head teachers serve as mentors to full-time assistant teachers who are new to the field.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in early childhood education, three-five years previous teaching experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfort with integrating technology into the curriculum, interest in collaborating with colleagues, and a passion for working with children required.
