Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC, and Bethesda, MD, seeks a full-time Receptionist for the Middle School (Grades 5-8). Responsibilities of the position include: being a welcoming presence as the first point of contact for visitors to the Middle School; processing Middle School visitors according to School protocol; answering phones and responding to messages as appropriate; assisting with attendance; collecting and distributing interdivisional mail; managing office and kitchen supplies; creating and sending the daily bulletin; offering additional support, as needed, for general extra administrative duties, including details related to off-campus trips.
This Receptionist must have a high level of comfort with technology including: Word, Excel, Google Docs and Forms, Pages, and data management systems. Flexibility, a sense of humor, and a love for Middle School-aged children are necessary. Candidates must have a two- or four-year degree. Two to five years’ experience in an administrative support role are preferred. This 10 month position starts mid-August and ends mid-June of each school year.
