National Cathedral School (NCS) announces a search for an associate director of development and donor relations. This position is responsible for building and managing a dynamic portfolio of approximately 100 major-gift prospect relationships, conducting 100 or more individual prospect meetings per year.
The associate director identifies, qualifies, and cultivates major and principal gift prospective donor relationships. The associate director then focuses upon soliciting and closing six- and seven-figure gifts and leadership-level annual gifts, as well as ensuring appropriate stewardship of the associated donors. The associate director also provides leadership for the Stewardship and Prospect Management programs, and supervises the stewardship and donor relations coordinator.
The successful candidate must be an independently motivated, goal-oriented, strategic thinker who can execute among multiple priorities and succeed in a dynamic, team oriented, results-driven environment. Reporting to the director of development, the associate director helps engender a positive culture of donor-centered best practices and pursuit of continuous improvement for the Development Office.
Interested candidates should send an electronic application that includes a brief cover letter, résumé, and the names and contact information of three references to NCSEmployment@cathedral.org with a subject line of "Associate Director of Development."
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree; three or more years of professional fundraising experience; demonstrated success in cultivating leadership-level annual-gift and major-gift prospects, closing five- and six-figure gifts, and frequent regional and occasional national and overnight travel. NCS is committed to leadership in multicultural education and a culturally diverse faculty and staff. The school therefore seeks applications from candidates who will contribute to an atmosphere in which all are valued and supported.
