The Academy of the Holy Cross is accepting resumes for an Assistant to the Director of Admissions
The Academy of the Holy Cross, a Catholic college preparatory school sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Cross since 1868, is dedicated to educating young women in a Christ-centered community which values diversity. The Assistant to the Director of Admissions is responsible for supporting the planning and coordination of all recruitment programs and participating in related activities for the purpose of providing The Academy of the Holy Cross with a representative applicant pool in order to achieve the Academy's enrollment objective.
Visit elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Washington and make formal presentations to the 8th grade girls when needed
Provide information regarding the importance of single-sex education and how this type of education fosters leaders during high school and beyond
Help in organizing Open House
Process applications, create applicant files and collect supporting material
Ensures admission inquiries are answered in a timely manner
Create and maintain the applicant profile spreadsheet
Create and maintain the prospective student data spreadsheet
Generate reports and analyze data as needed
Maintain a high level of confidentiality and quality control regarding applications
Administer the High School Placement Test according to the Archdiocese of Washington as assigned, and also to applicants who missed the opportunity to previously take it.
Participate in Admission Committee meetings, ensure all student admission files and any other relevant information is prepared
Record Admission Committee decisions
Maintain accurate records and ensure that all applications are complete and all questions answered for the Committee.
Informs applicants through acceptance letters and all correspondence, that her and her family will be part of a larger community of faith and scholarship-the AHC community
Attend and help run all post-enrollment activities including Big Sister Little Sister, Freshman Mother's Luncheon and Freshman Orientation.
Promote The Academy of the Holy Cross at High School Fairs
Recruit and train Student Ambassadors during Tartan For A Day Events
Manage AHC Admissions social media accounts, posting regularly showcasing school activities to support recruitment.
Present the school to prospective students and parents, which includes systematic and efficient handling of applications and communication with candidates and their parents; interviews when necessary with candidates and their parents; arrangements for admissions testing; securing of necessary student credentials; and communicating final decisions to the appropriate individuals
Coordinate with the network of parents, former parents and alumnae to assist in the admissions program
Create and manage relevant statistics on all aspects of the admissions and re-enrollment program
Represent the school at various gatherings and conferences
Update admissions related data in the Student Information System
Support the school and its leadership
Perform other related duties as assigned
Previous experience in admissions, education or marketing or as an administrative assistant
Must have data collection experience
Must have strong time management, organization and decision-making skills
Must have working knowledge of Google Drive, Microsoft Office, IOS, Social Media (including but not limited to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube). Preferred knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign
Must demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism
Must be able to drive a car with students (if necessary) for recruitment purposes
Must be able to carry materials for High School Fairs and elementary school visits
Must be able to multi-task
Must be able to meet deadlines
Must be able to maintain and exercise judgment and discretion in sensitive matters
Must be available to work some evenings and occasional weekends
