Washington Episcopal School in Bethesda, Maryland, is seeking a part-time Music Teacher for the early childhood grades for the 2019-20 school year.
The role of the Music Teacher is to teach a cohesive curriculum to all Nursery through Kindergarten students and collaborate with other faculty to plan special performances. This individual will also need to cantor and/or accompany the weekly chapels. Piano or guitar accompaniment skills are required. An extra opportunity to assist in the production of the sixth-grade musical during the months of January through March can be arranged.
The successful candidate will also:
communicate effectively with parents
work collaboratively with two other teachers in the department, as well as division colleagues and administrators
foster a creative and engaging learning environment
coordinate and assist with school plays and assemblies
cantor and accompany weekly School Chapels
Qualified candidates will possess degree(s) in Music and/or Music Education with a graduate degree preferred, and will have demonstrated successful experience working with early childhood students .
