Collaborating with classroom teachers and resource specialists to design and implement lessons and units of instruction, and assessing student learning and instructional effectiveness.
Providing the leadership and expertise necessary to ensure that the school library program is aligned with the mission, goals, and objectives of the school, and is an integral component of the learning/instructional program.
Creating an environment that is conducive to active and participatory learning, resource-based instructional practices, and collaboration with teaching staff.
Librarian for grades 6 – 12, teaching information literacy, digital citizenship and research skills lessons, conducting book chats, presenting authors and providing special programming events.
Developing web-based resources and co-teaches in classrooms to launch research projects and support meaningful technology integration.
Managing Library Department budget.
Purchasing, cataloging, and circulating ~12,000-volume multimedia materials collection.
Acquiring and maintaining library database software, online resources, and desktop and mobile devices.
Coordinating all textbook acquisitions for grades 6 through 12.
Cooperates with Technology Department personnel to provide and maintain access to digital information resources for the learning community and facilitates device and tech equipment loaning process.
Performing other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information & Library Science required with teaching experience in various levels of secondary education. Master’s Degree preferred; MSDE certification preferred
Commitment to embrace the school’s mission and values
Genuine enthusiasm, personal warmth and passion for teaching and inspiring a love of learning
Willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, and parents
Experience using a variety of pedagogical strategies
Enjoys working collaboratively to develop and plan curricula.
