The Madeira School is a private, independent boarding and day school for girls in grades 9-12, located on a beautiful 376-acre campus in McLean, Virginia, just 12 miles from Washington, DC. Founded in 1906, and with a long legacy of iconic alumnae, Madeira’s 325 students come from 19 states and 29 countries; 35% are students of color and 15% are international students. 39% of students receive Madeira financial aid.
The Director of Enrollment Management is responsible for recruiting, selecting, and enrolling a diverse class of high-quality students, and administering a financial aid budget of $3.45 million. The Director is responsible for developing marketing and strategic plans that will position Madeira as the all-girls, college preparatory boarding and day school of choice for prospective girls and their families.
Reporting to the Head of School, the Director oversees the admissions team of 6, is a member of the school’s senior administrative team, and works cooperatively with the senior leadership, Board, faculty, and staff in setting direction and policy to ensure that students who enroll at Madeira are of the caliber necessary to succeed in a highly competitive program, and who will be successful in college, their careers after graduation, and lead productive lives as life-long learners and responsible citizens.
