This is an immediate vacancy for the 2019-20 school year. The appointed Interim Head will be considered for the permanent position during a search in the spring. Preferred Start Date: August 26, 2019
The Associate Head of Junior High works closely with the Head of Junior High to oversee the education of approximately 100 students with diagnosed learning differences in a graded program and supervises, coaches, schedules for and inspires a staff of approximately 25 teachers and specialists (speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, social worker, reading tutors).

Preferred credentials: Master’s degree in relevant field of study, 10 + years of experience in middle school education including teaching and administrating, and experience working with students with language based learning differences (dyslexia, dysgraphia, auditory processing, ADHD).
Qualifications: Candidates will need to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, a deep appreciation for the value of the arts, a solid knowledge of reading and writing instruction for students with learning differences, a strength in organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills, and a sense of humor. Creativity and a passion for the arts are considered highly valued traits.
