JOB SUMMARY

Beauvoir, the National Cathedral Elementary School, seeks an energetic, thoughtful, dedicated, and detail minded Manager of Digital and Print Communications to assist in executing a strategic digital communications and marketing plan to advance the institution’s mission and vision. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing.

 

The Manager of Digital and Print Communications must be a strong graphic designer and writer with a passion for storytelling, a strong working knowledge of current digital-marketing best practices, a meticulous attention to detail, an open and collaborative spirit, and a commitment to education.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with developing and promoting key messages and branding that align with institutional priorities.
  • Manage, and produce digital media and print publications.
  • Manage and deploy weekly communications.
  • Serve as website content manager and editor.
  • Manage and execute a social media plan.
  • Oversee all advertising.
  • Operate the School’s CMS and other systems.
  • Create digital graphics for web and social media.
  • Serve as a copyeditor on school messages and publications.
  • Understand and track digital analytics for the School.
  • Shoot photographs and video as needed.
  • Execute additional projects as necessary.

FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Skilled storyteller with experience creating compelling, engaging, and ROI-driven digital content.
  • Experienced graphic designer with the ability to execute online and print advertising campaigns.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, basic HTML, social media tools, video editing, photography, web publishing.
  • Experience with Blackbaud preferred.
  • Ability to work independently; a self-starter with a high level of integrity and the ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to many constituencies including parents, donors, volunteers, and colleagues.
  • Professionalism, maturity, flexibility, good judgment, and humor.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Certification, Years' Experience):

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing and communications, superior digital marketing skills, and a strong grasp of communications industry best practices.
  • A commitment to mission-driven organizations.
  • Experience in independent schools preferred.  
  • Experience managing vendor and consultant relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.

General Requirements:

  • Passing periodic background checks, FBI background check and, at the discretion of the school, drug, and alcohol screening.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong graphic design and writing skills.
  • Mature judgment and discretion; ability to maintain confidentiality and composure under pressure.
  • Consistent and prompt attendance.
  • Compliance with the provisions of the Beauvoir Faculty & Staff Handbook.

WORKING CONDITIONS (SCHEDULE, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, and stooping in the performance of daily activities.
  • The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard.
  • The position requires near and far vision for reading and preparing written reports and other documents.
  • Acute hearing is also required when providing phone assistance.
  • The need to lift, drag, push, and pull files, reports, and other materials weighing up to 25 pounds is required.
