SSSAS seeks a School Archivist to collect, arrange, preserve, make available, describe, and digitize SSSAS’s archival documents, paintings, photographs, books, and material culture items. From the nearly 100-year-old collection, historical content is researched, interpreted, written, and shared. The Archivist works collaboratively within and outside of the School to assist in cultivating and sharing our rich history. The Archivist is part of the Advancement Office team, which is responsible for engaging, cultivating and soliciting over 7,000 constituents including alumni, current parents, grandparents, parents of alumni, faculty and staff. The position reports to the Senior Director of Advancement Services. As SSSAS looks forward to celebrating its centennial school year in 2024-2025, it seeks a collaborative self-starter who is energized by the rare opportunity to shape the course of a young archive. A successful candidate will embrace the variety of opportunities that comes with managing a school archive, including engaging academic departments with the collection, capturing oral histories during alumni events, and developing relevant programs and displays for annual school traditions. This is a half time, twelve-month position. Some evening/weekend event support work is expected.
