Burgundy Farm Country Day School seeks a talented and dedicated fundraising professional to join their Advancement team beginning July 1, 2022 (or sooner if available).
Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Director of Annual Giving is a key member of the Advancement team overseeing a critical annual fundraising effort for the school. The candidate will plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive annual giving program focused on building sustainable growth in donor participation, primarily among current parents, alumni families, and grandparents. This role works independently and collaborates extensively with colleagues within Advancement and throughout Burgundy on all aspects of fundraising, including events, volunteer engagement, outreach, and communications.
The ideal candidate will bring two to five years of non-profit fundraising experience, preferably in an independent school or university setting. The candidate should have proven experience creating, planning, and implementing annual giving initiatives that have met their fundraising goals. Database management and gift processing experience preferred.
The successful candidate will also need to possess a strong work ethic, be adaptable and creative, and believe in Burgundy’s mission and values. This is a full-time position. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., including a 30-minute lunch break. Must be available to work occasional evening and weekend events. Vacation days are approved by the Director of Advancement and coordinated with other members of the Advancement Team.
Responsibilities
- Implement a detailed Annual Fund program plan that coordinates with other School fundraising priorities while providing support to the Director of Advancement to ensure overall fundraising goals are met.
- Establish a calendar of solicitations and events by targeted constituency and fundraising strategy.
- Support the major gift program realizing that Annual Fund leadership giving is a pipeline to major gifts.
- Manage all aspects of the annual giving program; including volunteer management, donor solicitation, stewardship, and prospect management.
- Focus on building parent, grandparent, faculty, staff, and alumni family participation in Annual Giving
- Cultivate and solicit annual gifts ranging from $100 to $10,000+
- Analyze programs and produce regular reports on fundraising progress
- Manage and oversee development database; assure data integrity
- Manage gift processing, gift acknowledgment, and pledge reminder process, assuring accuracy. Responsible for monthly gift processing and the annual audit in collaboration with the Business Office.
- In collaboration with the Director of Advancement and the Special Events and Outreach Coordinator, build on the current parent, grandparent, alumni, and alumni parent programs to create new and innovative ways to connect with Burgundy, engendering philanthropic support for the School.
- Serve as the Advancement project lead for the Annual Report, working with the Communications and Public Relations Director.
- Assist in planning and implementing events, including Fall Fair, Grandparents Day, Auction, Volunteer Appreciation Reception, and all events sponsored by Advancement.
