POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director provides support for meeting enrollment goals by reading, interpreting, and evaluating candidate applications and academic credentials, which include evaluating transcripts and determining admission. The Assistant Director manages the annual admissions process and implements the recruitment activities.
This position will oversee the new student recruitment initiatives which include presentations to groups, managing the student recruiting calendar, e-mail campaigns, social media, and managing the admissions software system.
This position assists in representing and promoting the school to prospective students. The Assistant Director is responsible for marketing the school by developing recruitment and outreach materials that educate, inform, and advise others about the school’s programs. The Assistant Director will also assist with guiding the student ambassadors to conduct outreach to prospective students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Responsible for Office of Admissions management including the admissions database, recruitment calendar, and statistical reports.
• Develop, track, and coordinate all outbound email communication for the Office of Admissions.
• Serve as the liaison to the Communications Office on the production of Admissions print publications, editing Admissions Office content for web, social media, and print materials.
• Participate in events including traveling to high school fairs, receptions, information sessions, and grade school visits, along with electronic outreach.
• Perform both in-person and virtual interviews and information sessions for candidates.
• Serve as resource for the Student Ambassador Program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
• Bachelor’s degree required plus 1–3 years of related work experience
• Excellent communication, writing, and public speaking skills
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups and dynamic situations
• Keen attention to detail
• Knowledge of web-based communication tools, including SchoolAdmin and Microsoft Suite
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications, HTML, and familiarity with Web software a plus
