This is a full-time, exempt position.

Position Description:
The Director of Annual Giving oversees the day-to-day aspects of the Annual
Fund, including all fundraising, cultivation and recognition activities. This
position manages the School’s annual fundraiser and other special events.
Additionally, this role will cultivate a strong volunteer core of parents and
community members to help advance the mission of the school. The
successful candidate will have the poise and professionalism to work with a
broad range of faculty, students, alumni, parents, grandparents and
community members.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
? Manage the Annual Fund
? Assist in design and implementation of a comprehensive Annual Fund
campaign (identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship) with
targeted solicitations and activities to strengthen the School’s
fundraising program. In the current school year, the Annual Fund raised
over $1.2 million in revenue.
? Work with the Director of Advancement to recruit, train, motivate and
manage volunteer leadership to accomplish annual fund and event
fundraising goals. Activities can include print and digital
communications, stewardship and engagement activities as well as
individual outreach.
? Work with the Advancement Data Services Associate to ensure that
gifts are entered into the database and donor acknowledgements are
timely.
? Research prospects to determine appropriate appeals; work with the
Advancement team to identify major donor prospects and collaborate
on solicitation strategies.
? Under direction of the Director of Advancement, set communications
schedule and maintain website presence in collaboration with the
Communications office.
? Coordinate all solicitation efforts, including writing solicitation letters,
printing of collateral materials, pledge reminders and other materials as
needed.
? Coordinate all stewardship efforts, including writing acknowledgment
letters, tracking follow-up using database tools and reports for Head of
School.
? Produce annual giving brochures, publications and communications in
collaboration with the Communications Office; oversee content for the
Annual Report and regularly update website content for the Annual
Fund section.
? Create ongoing reports as needed to track fundraising efforts.
? Manage special events
? Organize special events on behalf of the Advancement Department
such as the school’s annual fundraiser, Dare to be Field.
? Manage all donation tracking and reports for the auction, utilizing
donor database (Raiser’s Edge) and auction software (OneCause).
? Coordinate annual Leaders in Philanthropy Reception, Parent
Receptions, and other other donor, prospect and volunteer events as
needed.
? Recruit, train, motivate and manage volunteer leadership to accomplish
fundraising goals for annual giving and events.
? Alumni Relations
? Nurture the school’s young alumni program within the greater
development efforts of the school
? Oversee a year-round program of activities directed at alumni to
increase the connection, involvement and knowledge of the school.
? Collaborate with Communications Office on alumni social media
? Establish and build relationships with alumni students and parents
Experience and Qualifications:
? Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years professional
experience developing and directing comprehensive annual fund
programs and special events.
? Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
? Outstanding organizational skills; initiate and complete multiple tasks
on time with competing priorities and deadlines.
? Demonstrated talent for recruiting, managing and inspiring volunteers.
? Strong interpersonal skills and judgment to represent Field both within
and outside the school; develop and maintain effective relationships
with donors, prospects and the Field community.
? Ability to write and speak persuasively; excellent written and oral
communication skills.
? Impeccable attention to detail.
? Discretion in handling confidential information.
? Experience with donor database software (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and
NXT required); working knowledge with platforms such as iWave,
OneCause and GoogleSuite preferred.
? Experience in an independent school is preferred.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a communal office in a professional school
environment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to
talk and hear. This position is active; it requires standing and walking,
including stairs.
Travel:
Regular travel is not expected in this position
