About Sheridan School
Sheridan is an independent, co-educational, K-8 school located in northwest Washington, DC. We offer a progressive, concept-based, social justice-oriented curriculum. Grades K-4 have two co-teachers in each homeroom and between 24-27 students per grade. Departmental classes such as art, music and science are taught in smaller sections outside of the homeroom by content specialists. Our program for Grades 5-8 is grounded in an advisory model and may have up to 30 student in each grade who meet in smaller groups for academic subjects. Sheridan has a robust financial aid budget and a strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and belonging in every aspect of the school, including enrollment and staffing. We value continuous professional growth, and offer fully-funded faculty development opportunities as well as a mentoring program for new faculty.
