Capitol Hill Day School seeks part-time After School Program Staff
At Capitol Hill Day School, learning is challenging, engaging, playful, and relevant to the real world. Students learn across subjects with an experiential curriculum that integrates not only academic subjects, but the arts, physical education, service learning, and technology. Through an extensive field education program, students take part in experiences beyond the classroom related to topics of study. Teachers collaborate with each other in developing, planning, and implementing curriculum; school-wide, they create a spirit of camaraderie through their interactions with students, parents, and other members of the staff. Also essential to the School’s program is its commitment to diversity, ensuring that students from varying backgrounds, cultures, and learning styles learn from and with each other. Emphasis is placed on building a classroom community that respects each individual while teaching children how to become caring, engaged members of the group.
Capitol Hill Day School seeks creative, dynamic candidates to work in our After School Program. The School has an experiential approach to education, apparent through hands-on activities. It is the expectation that After School Program staff will thoughtfully engage with children each afternoon. Additionally, the staff is responsible for the health, wellbeing, and safety of children. Positions are part-time, approximately 16 hours each week from 3:00-6:00 Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Friday, and 2:00-6:00 on Wednesdays.
Requirements: High School diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred). Experience working with students in a school, summer camp, or childcare setting is valued. Strong communications and collaboration skills and the ability to be punctual and dependable. Successful candidates must complete a fingerprint scan and background check.
Being authorized to legally work in the U.S. and fully vaccinated for Covid are preconditions of employment.
