Bullis School seeks an experienced educator and collaborative leader to serve as our next Associate Head of School for Teaching and Learning in the 2023-24 academic year. A member of the school’s Senior Leadership Team, this key academic leader reports to the Head of School and supports the school’s academic vision and strategic initiatives in alignment with the school’s mission to uniquely prepare all students to become caring citizens and creative, critical thinkers who will thrive in tomorrow's world. Candidates will demonstrate innovative thinking, deep knowledge of current research and curricular trends, and a commitment to working collaboratively with a team of highly engaged curricular leaders.
The Associate Head of School for Teaching and Learning works with academic leaders across the school to evaluate and continually develop the interdisciplinary academic program guided by outstanding teaching practices. As a curriculum and instructional expert, this position remains well-versed in current trends and emerging research that inform programmatic decision-making. The Associate Head of School for Teaching and Learning oversees Bullis’ three Signature Programs, an important aspect of the student-centered academic experience that provides opportunities for students to engage in experiential interdisciplinary study that culminate in research-based or creative capstone experiences. This position supervises key academic leaders at the school, as well as provides ongoing feedback and support for the Signature Program Directors and Librarians. In alignment with the school’s commitment to the growth and development of its faculty, the Associate Head of School for Teaching and Learning coordinates school-wide professional development opportunities and encourages faculty to share expertise and explore innovative best practices. This position serves as an academic liaison to the community, communicating teaching and learning initiatives to the Board of Trustees, Parents Association, prospective families, and external entities.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field, required
Master’s degree or higher in education or a related field or related field, required
Minimum of five years in an academic leadership position
