The Woods Academy in Bethesda, Maryland, is seeking a full time preschool assistant. This is an hourly position with benefits.
The Woods Academy is an inclusive Catholic community preparing boys and girls to lead lives of significance. The school serves approximately 300 students in the Washington DC Metropolitan area, including Montgomery County Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The Woods is where children come to discover their talents, grow in their faith, challenge themselves, and foster a strong desire to lead lives of significance. The school provides a comprehensive education for children from Age 3 to Grade 8 with strong academics, a daily world language program, hands-on technology instruction, and a well-rounded arts program, all conducted in a small classroom setting.
The preschool assistant teacher would work in our Extended Care program that provides before and after care for students ages 3-6 who attend the Montessori Preschool program. The assistant teacher will work with other members of the Extended Care team to execute daily activities like art projects, playground, lunch, and rest period supervision while ensuring a safe learning environment at all times.
Applicants for the preschool assistant teacher position should be energetic, dependable, and positive. Applicants must be available to work between the hours of 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A Bachelor’s degree and teaching experience in the early childhood environment is preferred.
