The Lab School of Washington, an independent school in Washington, DC for students with language-based learning differences, is seeking a full-time 7th and 8th grade English Teacher in its Middle School beginning in late August 2023.
The ideal candidate should have:
3-5 years of teaching experience
experience teaching students with language-based learning differences
knowledge of reading development and adolescent literature
experience teaching the writing process.
Candidates must have enthusiasm, creativity, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in collaboration with a teaching team in an arts-infused environment. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
Ideally, the candidate will have teaching certification in the District of Columbia, or be eligible and/or willing, with support, to complete the requirements for this certification.
All faculty and staff employed by Lab must be fully vaccinated against covid-19 or submit an official medical exemption.
