Pay for this role is commensurate with a candidate’s years of teaching experience and is expected to be between $30,000 and $55,000 for the remainder of the school year. Additional pay to be provided for small group ensembles, should those be added.

The Maret Performing Arts Department has an immediate opening for a middle school instrumental music teacher. There is a possibility of expanding the position to include a few small group ensembles as well.
We are looking for an inspiring and engaging teacher who is familiar with teaching middle school instrumental music. Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to and passion for equity and inclusion in all facets of their work. The selected candidate will be expected to be on campus four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), 30 minutes before their first class and 30 minutes after their final class, in addition to a few concerts throughout the year (winter and spring).
The ideal candidate will:
Have a bachelor’s degree in a related field;
Enjoy working with large groups and excel at teaching fundamental skills;
Have a minimum of two years of teaching experience at the middle school level;
Have strong communication and classroom management skills;
Have experience in woodwind, brass, percussion, and strings
