The Maret Performing Arts Department has an immediate opening for a middle school instrumental music teacher. There is a possibility of expanding the position to include a few small group ensembles as well.

We are looking for an inspiring and engaging teacher who is familiar with teaching middle school instrumental music. Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to and passion for equity and inclusion in all facets of their work. The selected candidate will be expected to be on campus four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), 30 minutes before their first class and 30 minutes after their final class, in addition to a few concerts throughout the year (winter and spring).

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a bachelor’s degree in a related field;
• Enjoy working with large groups and excel at teaching fundamental skills;
• Have a minimum of two years of teaching experience at the middle school level;
• Have strong communication and classroom management skills;
• Have experience in woodwind, brass, percussion, and strings 

Pay for this role is commensurate with a candidate’s years of teaching experience and is expected to be between $30,000 and $55,000 for the remainder of the school year. Additional pay to be provided for small group ensembles, should those be added.
