Landon seeks an innovative and inspirational full-time Lower School/Middle School Studio Art Teacher to join its faculty of teacher-coach-mentors for the 2025-26 school year. Candidates from diverse backgrounds and perspectives who can inspire and engage boys are encouraged to apply. An ideal candidate will be a practicing artist who possesses a minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the elementary and middle school levels. The professional attributes of collaboration, innovation, and positivity are important characteristics as well. The position will include teaching 2-3 sections of Middle School Studio Art classes as well as Grade 6 Studio Art classes in the Lower School.
The Middle School Studio Art classes include grades 7 and 8 and focus on developing artistic technique and voice in a hands-on, project-oriented curriculum that includes Ceramics as an important component. The Grade 6 Studio Art role will involve designing and implementing an engaging, age-appropriate art curriculum that encompasses various art media, techniques, art history, and cultural appreciation. Students should be encouraged to explore their creativity, build artistic skills, and develop an understanding of the artistic process. The position includes participating fully in the co-curricular life of the school, whether through coaching in the athletic program, assisting in a performing arts production, or some other significant commitment to the lives of the boys outside of the classroom. Serving as an advisor to a group of students may also be part of the responsibilities.
