Bullis School seeks a Lower School 5th Grade Homeroom Teacher to contribute to our vibrant learning community starting in the 2025-26 academic year. Candidates should be capable of teaching a wide range of students, with a specific focus on developing and implementing a robust and engaging curriculum in language arts, mathematics, and social studies to a homeroom group of up to 16 students.
Lower School Homeroom teachers create the conditions for discovery inside and outside the classroom by supporting and encouraging students to take risks, collaborate, and explore. Teachers develop and implement curriculum, evaluate student work using grades and comments, and communicate student progress with parents. Successful Lower School teachers at Bullis are committed to ongoing professional development and a wide range of teaching approaches to reach a diverse student population. Qualities of a Bullis Lower School Teacher

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field
Minimum of three years prior teaching experience
Preferred:
Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field
Teaching certificates
Experience teaching in a technology-rich environment, including Google Educators Suite, iPad / Chromebook integration
Experience with a structured literacy program which includes phonics/morphology instruction, Writer’s Workshop, and inquiry-based learning
Orton-Gillingham training
