Loudoun Country Day School is seeking an experienced, energetic, collaborative professional with exceptional financial and analytical skills and deep-rooted experience in business and finance matters for the position of Chief Financial Officer. Reporting to the Head of School and serving on the senior administrative team, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the business, finance, investment, facilities, human resources, risk management, and operational functions. The CFO monitors and is responsible for leadership of both day-to-day business operations and enabling Loudoun Country Day School to achieve long-term strategic goals.
The position requires interaction and teamwork with the head of school, senior administrators, local community members, faculty members, staff, vendors and the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will manage two direct reports (including facilities) and join a dynamic, experienced and collegial leadership team.
Although the opportunity starts July 1 and will be filled following a comprehensive search, the school is open to an earlier start date for overlap between the current and new CFO. Qualification Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, and CPA certification and Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred
Minimum five years of experience in finance/accounting
Proven success in a senior administrative role, preferably working with a board
Demonstrated leadership qualities – organizing people and processes
High ethical standards
Excellent oral and written communication skills
The ability to work collaboratively with coworkers and other school community members
Keen analytical skills and a detail-oriented work style
Supervisory/management experience preferred
Experience in a related role in a non-profit organization or independent school preferred
Experience with comprehensive or capital campaigns preferred
