Loudoun Country Day School (LCDS) is looking for an enthusiastic, talented educator to join our middle school as an orchestra teacher for the 2025-26 academic year. Reporting to the Middle School Director, our new middle school orchestra teacher will be a collaborative and passionate educator who understands the nuances of middle school-aged children.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and dedicated professional who is able to communicate and collaborate with students, parents/guardians, fellow classroom teachers, and school staff, and is committed to the mission and core values of LCDS.

Builds positive relationships with students and fosters a sense of belonging
An appreciation for the unique qualities of middle school aged students
A willingness to employ differentiated instruction to meet learners at their level of need
Teaching Qualifications:
Teach 10 periods of grades 4-8 orchestra per week.
Support and contribute to all music department events
Attend all required meetings
Attend LCDS required events throughout the year.
Plan and attend the annual, evening Winter Music Performance, including teaching four additional class periods in November/December, during which students rehearse for the performance.
Coordinate to plan and attend the annual, evening Spring Music Performance, including teaching four additional class periods in April/May, during which students rehearse for the performance.
Attend the Grandparents' Day Performance, which will be held in early May.
Attend the Graduation Ceremony, which will be held in early June.
Engage in classroom observations by administration and colleagues
Willing to offer private lessons after school. The teacher is paid through the school for after school private lessons.
Participation in recess duties, school assemblies, and the substitute process based on school guidelines.
