The Academy of the Holy Cross has an immediate opening for an Information Coordinator/Receptionist (ICR).

The Information Coordinator/Receptionist (ICR), is the first point of contact for all individuals contacting AHC with inquiries and is responsible for greeting all visitors in a professional manner, determining the nature of business, and contacting the appropriate party. Creating a warm welcoming environment at the entrance of the school, in which guests are greeted with kindness and helpfulness to reflect the Academy's strong commitment to respectfully, responsive and authentic communication.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor all activities in the reception area and ensures security and visitor policies are followed
Answers school switchboard and appropriately routes incoming calls
Fields questions from students and visitors, directing them to the proper office for further assistance
Maintains information notebook
Updates, produce and distribute weekly calendar of events and facility usage
Provides administrative support to the Principal's office team
Inputs and updates computer display
Assists administrative offices as needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
College degree preferred
Two years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Previous experience with a multi-line phone system
Must have a professional appearance and excellent phone etiquette
Must have strong verbal communication skills
Must demonstrate a customer service attitude and be able to interact effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff and vendors
Must be punctual and dependable
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); PowerPoint a plus
Must be able to six for extended periods of time
Must be able to speak and hear clearly
Must be able to quickly prioritize level of importance of all phone inquiries
Must be able to determine who to contact when greeting visitors and/or forwarding information
Must be able to act quickly when emergency situations arise
Must be able to work in a school and busy office setting
Must be able to adjust to variations in temperature
The Academy of the Holy Cross, is a private, Catholic high school (grades 9 - 12) for young women located in Kensington, MD. The college preparatory program reflects a holistic approach to education by fostering the intellectual, physical and moral development of the students. The school is sponsored by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross and has been in continuous operation in the Archdiocese since 1868.
