St. Anselm’s Abbey School, an independent Catholic school for young men in grades 6–12, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Varsity Boys Basketball Coach for the 2025–2026 winter season. The season begins in October and runs through February, with preseason planning and coordination starting earlier in the fall.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of the varsity boys’ basketball program, including practices, games, and team development
Foster a positive and competitive team culture that supports student-athletes on and off the court
Collaborate with the Athletic Director and other coaches in building a cohesive athletic department
Serve as a mentor and role model aligned with the mission and values of St. Anselm’s Abbey School
We are looking for a coach who brings 3–5 years of coaching experience, a proven track record of developing players’ skills, and a passion for the game. The ideal candidate is high-energy, collaborative, and eager to grow professionally while contributing to the life of our unique and close-knit school community.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of coaching experience at the high school or higher level
Strong leadership and communication skills
Enthusiasm for working with young men and supporting their development
Willingness to be part of a supportive and values-driven school community
St. Anselm’s Abbey School is an independent, Benedictine, Catholic school serving approximately 240 young men in grades 6-12. Located on 40 wooded acres in Washington, DC, the school offers a fast-paced and engaging liberal arts curriculum and attracts talented, motivated students from across the Washington metropolitan area.
