Stone Ridge is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Upper School English to cover classes starting in January 2026 through the end of the 2025-26 school year.  

Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational Early Childhood Program, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten in Bethesda, Maryland. The Upper School English Long-Term Substitute Teacher is responsible for teaching Upper School English in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education. Specifically, they will teach two sections of 12th grade AP English Literature and Composition. Working closely with colleagues in the English Department and throughout the Upper School, they will create and update plans for content, quality, and continuity of curriculum. The substitute teacher will implement plans in consultation with the Chair of the Upper School English Department. Likewise, the Upper School English Long-Term Substitute Teacher collaborates with Learning Strategists and Educational Technologists to develop strategies to support all students, and they work with the Counseling staff in supporting social-emotional programming. They attend all faculty and employee meetings, fulfill other faculty duties, and maintain good communication with families about student progress.
