Loudoun Country Day School (LCDS) is looking for an enthusiastic, talented educator to join our team as a Learning Specialist in 3rd-5th grade for the 2026-2027 Academic year.
This is a part-time position, but it is eligible for benefits. The individual hired will work four full days per week (preferably Monday to Thursday, but the four specific days are negotiable). They will also attend teacher workdays and meetings, and assume various duties commensurate with those of other LCDS specialty area teachers.
The responsibilities of the position include identifying and supporting students with mild learning disabilities and those struggling with the academic demands of the program, as well as supporting teachers in designing and delivering enrichment programs to academically gifted students. These could include pull-out or push-in programs, or simply being a resource for teachers.
Loudoun Country Day School (LCDS) is an independent, coeducational school in Leesburg, Virginia, educating about 360 students in preschool through 8th grade.

The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree is required (advanced degree is preferred), preferably in Education
Multiple years of experience teaching students in the 8 to 11 age range
Ability to connect and build positive relationships with children
Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
Growth mindset and willingness to seek professional development opportunities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfort level using technology and incorporating it into teaching
