Georgetown Visitation, founded in 1799, is an all-girls high school rooted in the Roman Catholic faith and Salesian tradition, committed to educating young women from diverse backgrounds. Visitation is currently searching for a full-time, 11-month Dean of Teaching and Learning to oversee the curricular program of the school. The Dean works closely with faculty and administrators to create an enriching academic environment for students.
The Dean of Teaching and Learning actively supports the mission and charism of the school and helps foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for all students. The Dean demonstrates an understanding of and enthusiasm for secondary education, for girls’ education, and for Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversees all aspects of the curricular program of the School to ensure that it supports and advances the mission and encourages student growth, leadership, and success.
Supervises the following direct reports: Academic Department Chairs and, in collaboration with Academic Department Chairs, faculty.
In collaboration with Principal, oversees and supports the professional goal setting process for faculty including observation feedback and 360 reviews.
In collaboration with Principal, leads the Curriculum Committee in researching, reviewing, and refining the academic program to best serve the needs of students and to best support faculty.
Promotes and shares opportunities for professional development and engages in professional development with faculty.
Monitors student academic progress, partners with faculty and parents when appropriate to support student academic success and facilitates the reporting of student progress.
In collaboration with Advisors, oversees the Scope and Sequence of the Academic Program including Course Registration.
Collaborates with Academic Support in identifying and supporting student needs and providing appropriate professional development to faculty working with these students.
In collaboration with Registrar, oversees exam administration.
Partners with Dean of Student Life and Personal Counseling to develop a comprehensive freshman, transfer student and parent orientation program.
Supports new families during their transition to Georgetown Visitation.
Serves on the Admissions Committee.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in education, curriculum or a related field required.
Minimum of five years of relevant experience, experience in Catholic or independent secondary schools preferred.
Excellent organizational skills, clear written and oral communication skills, and fluency with school data / learning management systems, Microsoft Suite and Google applications are required.
A passion for professional development, ongoing learning, and collaboration with multiple constituencies is essential.
