Loudoun Country Day School (LCDS) is looking for an enthusiastic, talented professional to join our Admissions Team as an admissions assistant. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, our new admissions assistant will be a collaborative and passionate professional who understands the nuances of independent schools.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and dedicated professional who is able to communicate and collaborate with parents/guardians, faculty/staff, and children and who is committed to the mission and core values of LCDS.
Job Summary:
The Admissions Assistant supports the Director of Admissions in daily operations through maintenance of the online Enrollment Management System (Blackbaud); organization of admissions appointments; hosting of events; facilitation of applicant assessments; and maintenance of admissions materials. The person serving in this position plays an important role as an enthusiastic school ambassador in a professional manner; building relationships with and providing timely assistance to all families; and supporting the organized functioning of the fast-paced admissions office.
Hours:
Twenty - thirty hours per week; flexible scheduling within the School week; twelve-month administrative position. Salary commensurate with experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicate with interested families that inquire via phone, email and our online community
Schedule admissions appointments, including tours, applicant visits, and applicant assessments
Assist the Blackbaud System Administrator and the Director of Admissions in maintaining LCDS’ online Enrollment Management System (EMS). This includes:
Maintaining integrity of inquiry and application data
Processing inquiries, applications, and supplemental documents upon receipt
Managing applicant parent access/logins
Keeping a record of all appointments in the system calendar
Updating applicant checklists on a daily basis
Making any necessary changes to application and inquiry forms, as well as any pages accessible to parents in the EMS
Assist the Director of Admissions in compiling admissions reports for the Head of School, board of trustees, and accreditation organizations
Assist the Director of Admissions in hosting admissions events (shadow days, open houses, new student orientation, etc.)
Administer developmental screenings of prekindergarten and kindergarten applicants
Facilitate and administer applicant academic assessments, as needed
Maintain updated admissions materials, both in hard copy and on the School website
Preferred Qualifications:
Four-year undergraduate college degree from an accredited institution, preferably in elementary, early childhood or special education
Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a high level of energy, flexibility and professionalism
High EQ
Exceptional customer service skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
Deep appreciation of the LCDS mission and values and the ability to effectively communicate the mission and values
Fluency with technology, i.e. Google Suite and database management
Experience with Blackbaud or the desire to train in the integral use of Blackbaud
